Forklift Driver

Job Summary:

General Mills is seeking a dedicated and motivated Forklift Driver to join our manufacturing team in Belvidere, IL. In this role, you will handle the storage and transportation of raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods. This position involves operating forklifts in both production and warehouse settings, supporting inbound and outbound shipments, and assisting with production needs. This is a 12-hour shift position with a rotating schedule and excellent pay and benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts within production and warehouse environments.
• Select, prepare, and load products for outbound shipments according to customer specifications.
• Store raw materials, ingredients, and finished products properly and safely.
• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming ingredients and packaging materials.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Assist in training new employees and sharing best practices.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift experience required; certification preferred or must be willing to obtain one.
• Previous manufacturing or production experience is a plus.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions including hot, cold, noisy, dusty, and wet areas.
• Must adhere to grooming standards required for food manufacturing environments.
• Willingness to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay & Schedule:

• Pay Rate: $20.40 per hour + $2.00/hour night shift differential
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
• 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off rotating schedule
