Data Modeler

Job Summary

Responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of database schemas supporting web and mobile applications. Works independently to analyze data requirements, develop models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring scalable, efficient, and accurate data systems for ALLDATA’s software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement database schemas for interactive web and mobile applications.
• Define development tasks and estimates; participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, planning, grooming, demos, and retrospectives.
• Perform data analysis and translate system behavior-focused design documents into data requirements.
• Apply logical and physical data modeling best practices, focusing on OLTP systems with knowledge of OLAP and cloud-based systems.
• Collaborate with QA, developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to refine and validate implementation.
• Design and refactor large database schemas, ensuring consistency and scalability over time.
• Develop data models in cloud environments such as GCP and AWS.
• Support data migration efforts from on-premise to cloud using native tools like BigQuery.
• Follow source control best practices using SVN, GitHub, or similar tools.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• 5–10 years of experience designing in database environments.
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts such as Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and scrum team collaboration.
• Proficiency with entity-relationship modeling, schema normalization, and denormalization strategies.
• Experience in cloud-based data environments including GCP and AWS.
• Knowledge of PSQL, Java, Python, and .NET/C# programming languages.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver high-quality results.

Salary

Compensation range: $107,000 – $187,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and location.
